Programming the Back Buttons
The back buttons have no default values, meaning pressing them triggers no input before they are programmed. Buttons that can have their functions copied to them are: A, B, X, Y, LB, RB, LT, RT, LS, RS, D-pad, Menu button, View button, and Share button.

- To cancel the function: press and hold the M button with the same back button for three seconds, then press the back button itself; the logo button will return to steady state, indicating cancellation.
- If ten seconds pass without any action while in configuration mode, the controller will automatically exit, and values remain unchanged.
The M button is the programming key, and the back buttons are highlighted in red in the official drawing.

Companion Software and Firmware Update
- Download the GameSir Nexus software from the Microsoft Store on Xbox or PC, or from the official website.
- Use the software to update the firmware and create three custom profile slots.
- Profiles include button remapping, stick and trigger zone adjustments, vibration levels, and lighting effect settings.
- If a back button value set via software differs from a manual setting, the latest one is adopted, and the previous one is replaced immediately.
- The official FAQ page recommends updating firmware to version 1.63 if experiencing connection or button issues.
FAQ
Connection constantly drops during gameplay
Try another cable, ensure it is fully inserted, try different ports (preferably on the back of the PC), then update the firmware to version 1.63 via GameSir Nexus or the manual update tool. If the problem persists, the port itself might be faulty and the controller may need replacement.
Controller does not work when connected to an Xbox console
First, ensure the cable is fully inserted. Then perform a hard power cycle by holding the power button for over ten seconds, and repeat after disconnecting power for thirty seconds. Press the logo button briefly, then try holding it for over five seconds. If that fails, press the logo button with the M button for three seconds to restore device recognition, or press the logo button with the Share button for three seconds to force Xbox input mode.
Stick drifts or trigger does not respond correctly
Perform stick and trigger calibration as explained in the Calibration section, and refer to the calibration video on the official support page.
Face buttons, D-pad, or top button register incorrect presses
Press and hold the View, Menu, and M buttons for five seconds to reset functions, and ensure firmware is updated to version 1.63.
Headset or microphone does not work after plugging into the controller
Insert the plug fully until it settles in the jack, and try inserting it slowly until you hear it click into place. Set audio output in device settings to Uncompressed Stereo, set the polling rate to 250Hz, ensure microphone mute is not enabled, and adjust volume using the M button + D-pad combination. If the problem persists, try another headset.
Stick moves by itself when dead zone is set to zero
This is normal behavior, as zero is a physically perfect dead zone, making the stick highly sensitive. Set the value between three and five to return to normal behavior.
Back buttons do not work
The back buttons have no default values and provide no input before being programmed; the programming method is explained in the Back Button Programming section.
How to control lighting directly from the controller
Press the M button with the left stick right or left to cycle through four lighting effects, and press the M button with the left stick up or down to increase or decrease brightness between five levels. Lighting effect is saved after restarting, but brightness is not.
Difference between Kaleid and Kaleid Flux models
Kaleid uses microswitches for face buttons, while Kaleid Flux uses membrane buttons; they also differ in internal faceplate engraving and default lighting strip colors.
Game subscription code did not work or showed as already used
The code is valid for new subscribers only and will not work if previously used. If you are a new subscriber and received a message stating the code is used, record the activation process on video and contact support for a replacement code.
